The Matrix

I was not thrilled about having to watch The Matrix. I had seen it once before but I didn't remember it because I didn't like or really understand it. I went over to my sister's and watched it with her and my brother-in-law. He likes the movie and was able to explain some things to me which helped. I am just not a fan of Science fiction, alternate reality, computer mumbo jumbo kinda stuff. I just can't relate to all of "unreal" or "impossible" things this movie discusses, but then when you think about it is it so impossible. I probably won't be around when or if any the technology of the movie becomes available.

I totally have the same feelings as you do, in regard to sci-fi, futuristic, tech movies... I started watching Matrix yesterday...got through about an hour of it and will finish it up tonight. Some parts of it are parts that I dont "get." It's frustrating..they made video games out of this movie and it did awesome at the box office...surely it can't be "that" complicated.... ?

Well, I think it's too late not to be alive during some of the technology the movie mentions -- such as virtual reality-based teaching and learning. One of the things about computers is that most people tend to be on one side of the line or the other -- loving or hating it. Technology, particularly computers and the Internet, seem to raise intense feelings and reactions. I wonder why?
