I hope to learn things that will help my students. It is very hard to motivate middle school students, but they are inerested in using the computer. I am interested in learning about myspace b/c my high school hockey players use it and i would like to keep up with the times.

I taught 7th and 8th grade for three years. My best experience was with my 8th grade self-contained laptop class. They were very motivated to do assignments because of the laptops. They were well-versed in the software and I basically didn't need to teach them how to use the computers. I was a facilitator and gave the various assignments. I found that working in groups to do research and using the internet kept them occupied. They used powerpoint to make their presentations,and they were very creative. I'm glad I had this experience and now I get to explore using technology with my 4th graders. My advice is to not be afraid to try new lessons with computers. You'll be surprised at the outcome.
